At Lucid Psychiatry, we find the root cause — not just the diagnosis.
Psychiatric care informed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy — treating your mind and body as one, because they've always been inseparable.
DPT, PMHNP-BC · Founder & Provider
Geleen holds something rare in psychiatric medicine: a Doctorate in Physical Therapy alongside board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With over 23 years in healthcare, she has spent two decades understanding how the body moves, compensates, and breaks down — and she brings that lens to every mental health appointment.
When Geleen says "holistic," she means it clinically. She screens for the physical contributors — thyroid, hormones, inflammation, sleep architecture, nutritional deficiencies — that standard psychiatry routinely misses. Her patients don't get a 15-minute prescription pad visit. They get a provider who asks why.
Each patient is treated with the same care, curiosity, and respect she would give to her own family — because Geleen genuinely believes that every person who walks through the metaphorical door deserves a provider who is fully present and fully invested in their specific story.
"I became a physical therapist because I wanted to understand the body. I became a psychiatric provider because I realized the mind was where people needed the most help finding their way back.
— Geleen Salcedo, DPT, PMHNP-BC
If you've ever left a psychiatric appointment feeling like a number on a chart — a diagnosis handed a prescription — you already know something is missing. Real healing asks bigger questions: Why now? Why this? What's driving this in your body, your life, your nervous system?
"You are more than your diagnosis — and your care plan should reflect that."— Lucid Psychiatry
At Lucid Psychiatry, your care plan is built around you — your history, your body, your goals. Every visit is a partnership. You're not a passive recipient of treatment; you're an active participant in your own healing.
Every holistic practice says they treat the whole person. Here's specifically what that means at Lucid Psychiatry.
We screen for thyroid function, vitamin D, B12, iron, and inflammatory markers — because mental health symptoms often have physical origins most practices overlook.
With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Geleen brings movement science, musculoskeletal assessment, and nervous system expertise that no standard psychiatric practice offers.
We start with lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, and supplements. Medication is added only when the benefit clearly outweighs the cost — and always at the lowest effective dose.
Beyond talk — we incorporate somatic techniques, breathwork, and vagal stimulation strategies to help your body learn safety, not just your mind.
Every care plan is written around your values, goals, and what "better" actually looks like for your specific life — not a generic protocol.
You are consulted on every decision. Nothing happens to you — it happens with you. That's what partnership actually means in practice.
Lucid Psychiatry provides outpatient telehealth mental health services and is not a crisis service.
Reach out with any questions — there's no obligation. We're happy to talk through your situation before you book anything.
